Electric Bikes
Electric bikes take the effort out of cycling and are fun to ride. You can pedal, but when you get to a really steep hill it’s great to be able let the motor take the strain.
They are economical to run, so will cut your commuting bills down significantly, and when motorists are stuck in traffic jams, you will be able to smugly continue on your journey and arrive home in half the time. You’ll be a lot less stressed than the motorist who has been sat for hours in a car park of congested traffic.
You don’t need a driving license to ride an electric bike. They are in the same classification as a pedal bike for legal purposes. It’s always a good idea to take out some insurance, but it’s not mandatory.
Electric bikes are excellent for the environment. They may not be quite as green as a conventional bike, but they are greener than cars, mopeds or motor bikes. We’re all helping to do our bit for the planet, and an electric bike contributes significantly.
Shop around before you decide on a model. There’s a good choice of cycles with weight, design, speed and range, varying between bikes. Range and speed are two main considerations. You need a bike that can get you to your destination before it runs out of power, and can easily travel up local hills. You’ll also want it to last. Your supplier will be able to advise you on motors, gearboxes and batteries.
You may be looking at electric bikes for a number of reasons. If you’re paying exorbitant fees for car parking, an electric bike will reduce your bills. On long journeys or commuting, an electric bike takes less effort, but is just as enjoyable as a conventional bike. If you want to get fit, but want to build up gently, electric bikes can offer an ideal solution.
If you want to get out and about, be green, save money and get fit, electric bikes are the answer. They’re fun, and whether you need one for work or weekend trips, you’ll love freedom they give you.
