Rochdale Cycle Club caters for underprivileged children, physically disabled riders and cyclists with cycling difficulties. Everyone is catered for, tandems are provided for the visually impaired and trailer Bikes for the younger kids. Electric Bikes are available for people who aren’t able to ride a pedal bike. Everything is free, so you can borrow a helmet and a bike. Garstang Cycle Club is for all levels of riders. They welcome novice and the experienced riders. Clitheroe Bike Club welcomes all types of cyclists including racing bikes, Mountain Bikes and BMX. Beginners and experienced riders are welcomed. There’s an events diary, a forum and a page full of news and photos. Manchester Wheeler’s Club has been going since 1883. It’s a friendly club and welcomes all cyclists including novice and experienced. The home page has links to news items, meetings, cycle rides, events and the latest results. It’s a great place for finding out about rides and has information about junior summer coaching sessions. Abbotsford Park Road Club is one of the oldest cycling clubs in the Greater Manchester area. It has activities, club runs, and always welcomes new members. You’ll find racing times to beat and a calendar of events. Club runs start off in Handforth and all new riders are welcome. The Janus Road Club is based in Stockport, Greater Manchester and was formed in 1953. It offers social and competitive activities for all its members. Meetings and club runs are held once a month. The Manchester and District Ladies Cycling organisation was formed in 1949. Its aim is to encourage ladies cycle racing. Bury Cyclists Touring Club is part of the CTC which was founded in 1878. The Bury section of the CTC was started in 1929. They have a very informative website with details on news, events, runs lists and reports, tours and cafes and tearooms.
